AGRICULTURE

Agricultural sustainability rests on the principle that we must meet the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs. Therefore, long-term stewardship of both natural and human resources is of equal importance to short-term economic gain.

GREEN CITY

The rapid growth of our cities and evolution of our production methods has had an immense impact on how the urban world has developed. The Green City Concept (GCC), is a more recent response to the problem of creating denser, greener and more liveable cities.

MINING ECOLOGICALLY

Renewable energy is energy from sources that are naturally replenishing but flow-limited. They are virtually inexhaustible in duration but limited in the amount of energy that is available per unit of time.

The major types of renewable energy sources are: Biomass, Hydropower, Geothermal, Wind & Solar.

Green mining is defined as technologies, best practices and mine processes that are implemented as a means to reduce the environmental impacts associated with the extraction and processing of metals and minerals. Examples include the reduction of greenhouse gases, selective mining approaches to reduce the ecological footprint, and reduction in chemical use.

INFRASTRUCTURE

Sustainable infrastructure is the development of roads, buildings, energy and water infrastructure, but requires careful consideration due to the enormous impacts to the well-being of people and the planet.

Emerging markets and developing economies need vast investments for new infrastructure to spur growth.
